Every time our two year old goes to her Tiny Tots Sunday school class, the teacher passes around the Bible and asks the kids if they want to put their hands on it. If they forget one Sunday, you can bet Lydia will wave her arms wildly in the air and remind them that she wants to “touch God’s Word”!
There is nothing sweeter than a toddler getting excited about learning Scripture! As Christian parents, we truly desire to our children to have a personal relationship with Jesus through His Word. I love that we can start early on teaching our kids a variety of Bible verses.
I wanted to share our 10 favorite Bible verses that we teach our little ones! They talk about who God is and how much He loves us and what He has done through Jesus, which is a solid foundation for all Bible learning. They’re a great springboard for teaching your toddler Scripture verses that will be cherished and remembered for their whole lives!
10 Bible Verses to Teach Your Toddler
You can choose to teach the entire verse of those that are longer, or just an abbreviated portion. I’ve put the “extra” part of these verses in parenthesis, but older toddlers really do pick up on Scripture quickly, so they will likely have no problem learning the whole thing!

Want to dig deeper into Scripture memorization? Do you desire to help your children hide God’s Word in their hearts but don’t know where to start?
That’s how I felt just a few short years ago, so I’ve created a resource that can help!
God’s Word in My Heart: A Scripture Learning Guide with Memory Verses is a downloadable eBook ($3.99) that gives you the option of teaching the same verses to both older and younger children (similar to what I did in this post) so you can impart specific Scriptural truths into their lives even from a very young age!
It includes printable A to Z Bible memory verse pages as well as verses on sin and salvation, plus plenty of very simple and straightforward ideas for learning and memorizing the verses!
Also included is a detailed list of songs and other go-alongs that reinforce the Scriptures they are learning!
