The Good Morning Girls study of 1 John has been such a blessing to me in these past few weeks. It’s also brought a measure of conviction to my heart when I consider that my life doesn’t always reflect the Lord’s light the way it should. Thankfully, God’s forgiveness is freely given and He has come to fellowship with us. We can trust that He works in us “to will and to act according to his good pleasure”! (Phil. 2:13)
Verses 20-23 of 1 John 2 tell us that because we are in true fellowship with Him and have been anointed by the Holy Spirit, we know the truth! We are able to identify the lies of the antichrists spoken of in verses 18 and 19. We know that John wrote this book to dispute Gnosticism, which was a false religion in the early church that appealed to people under the guise of Christianity. They denied the real resurrection of Christ and so John write to the believers saying, “no lie is of the truth.” Lies come in many forms and will continue to come until the last hour but we have hope! “You have an anointing from the Holy One and you all know.” (1 John 2:20)
I pray that I will always be in the Word so that I can continually grow in my faith, being able to distinguish between what is a lie and what is the Truth.

“I pray that I will always be in the Word so that I can continually grow in my faith, being able to distinguish between what is a lie and what is the Truth.”
That is my prayer too! Amen!
Thanks for your comment–I’m so thankful for the fact that we can all get something unique and meaningful out of God’s Word!
Oh, I LOVE the way you wrapped it up! I was torn in what to write this week…so many things overlapping…I moved a little away from posting on 1John this week, but am thankful to read your words!
