“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.”
Psalm 23:1-3
Today is a day where I need lots of restoring. I’m feeling sick and overwhelmed at the number of things I need to do. Having no energy to do them, I feel like a failure! It’s at times like these that I need restoration and peace.
It helps me to picture the scene of Psalm 23 as a lush meadow of green grasses with a bubbling stream flowing nearby. To sit and reflect on creation and God’s Word during times where I need refreshing is the best “cure” to what ails me.
We can be restored through prayer, devotions and quiet time spent reflecting on God’s goodness. Thanking God for his restoration today!
