Do you find it hard to express your feelings toward God, specifically in the area of praise? Sometimes I struggle with what words to say as I’m not a poetic person by nature. The book of Psalms contains beautiful poetic words of praise to God.
Many of these Psalms are very special to me. I have read them over and over because they express my feelings so well. Some of them form the words of choral songs from my Bible college concert choir days. Each of them has a deep meaning in my life. What psalms do you enjoy? If you have a favorite, I’d encourage you to pull out your Bible and meditate on it today!
Psalm 108:3-5 “I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.”
Psalm 111:7-8 “The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness.”
Psalm 9:1-2 “I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
Psalm 145:15-19 “The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.”
