I have now arrived at my due date, October 2nd, for baby #4! Not surprisingly, there is no baby {at least as of 7 am this morning}, but my 5 year old daughter is SURE the baby will come today at some point :)

I typically go late, as in 9 to 10 days late, so we shall see when this little one decides to make her appearance! But it’s worth the wait. I am preparing {for the first time} for a natural labor and delivery, assuming everything goes well.

We’d covet your prayers for a safe delivery and calm and peace for this momma’s heart! I’m a bit nervous about this whole “natural childbirth” thing. I’ve gone into labor on my own but have had 3 epidurals. I am not against epidurals, but we just decided to go a different route this time for personal reasons. Later after baby comes I’ll share with you why and how it happened that I considered doing this after three deliveries with medication.

As we look forward to the birth of our fourth child, I’ll be cutting back on blogging, but my less-frequent posts will continue to be well-thought out and meaningful, hopefully worth your time to read as a fellow busy mom!

I am also welcoming two new contributors to add to the two I am already blessed with and together we will be sharing encouragement with you!

Week 40!

Blessings to each one of you and thank you for being here at my blog!

  1. I just wanted to say how beautiful you are. This is such a great pic. And also the one of your belly with your other kiddos hands, I love it! Praying and believing with you for a great natural delivery with zero complications and a speedy recovery for momma. Keep us all posted!

    • Thank you so much, Jennifer! It does this 40 week pregnant mom’s heart good to hear such a sweet compliment :) Thank you for your prayers as well.

  2. Congrats! I attempted natural with my first but in the end needed an epi and pitocin. Changed things up in my prep and delivery of my second and had a natural child birth. It was only slightly more painful than a medicated one and I felt SO much better SO much quicker – worth it in my book!

  3. Prayers to you for a beautiful, safe, natural delivery!! Blessings to you and your family!
I just delivered my fifth baby 3 months ago, it was my first time having a home birth. It was a little scary, and I wasn’t sure I could go through with it. But it was amazing and I am glad that I did. It was a laid back birth. My suggestion for you is this, there will be a time or even times, that you feel you can’t do it, those are the times to lean on your support people or person. Prayer is amazing for these times, remembering that the Lord strength will get you through. I kept telling myself during the contraction that it was one less contraction that I had to have before baby came. I kept saying “one less, one less”
Also worship music was amazing when I was getting close to delivery, and felt like I had nothing left. I didn’t even think at the time that I wanted it, I was kinda annoyed my midwife put it on, but then I was over come by how much it helped! Amazing!
Hope that helps you out some!
Again, blessings to you and how exciting! Can’t wait to hear your new little one is here! :)

  4. Oh, I can relate, having just had my fourth baby last summer. I think the waiting seems to get harder each time around – probably because we realize the joy of the beautiful blessing we are about to receive. I will be praying for you! ;)

  5. I can’t wait to see pictures of your newest blessing! I know you are anxious and I will be praying you through. I always get myself through going overdue by reminding myself that they have to come out at some point. They can’t stay in there forever LOL!

    • You’re so right! I am saying that to my baby right now, “You can’t stay there forever!” ;)

  6. I understand well the anxiety that comes from waiting. My #4 was a week late. Praying for you and your family as you prepare to bring this little one into the world!
