We love homemade pizza and often use our whole wheat pizza dough recipe when we make it together on Friday nights.
This Homemade Pizza Crust with Flax is prepared in the bread machine! It has a light texture and crisps up nicely (especially when baked on my Pampered Chef stone). It’s a bit thinner crust than the whole wheat recipe and it’s become our new favorite!
Homemade Pizza Crust with Flax
3/4 c. water
2 Tbsp canola oil
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. whole white wheat flour
2 Tbsp ground flax
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. dry active yeast
Use dough setting on bread machine, adding ingredients as specified by bread machine booklet. When complete, spread the dough onto a pizza pan or stone. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
You can pre-bake the crust for 6 minutes at 425 degrees Farenheit. After pre-baking, top with your favorite pizza toppings and return it to the oven for about 10 minutes or until done to your liking!
*This recipe is adapted from the Skandia Mills Golden Flax Cookbook.
