Grab some ribbon, beads, buttons or whatever you have and enjoy some crafty fun decorating gingerbread men and women with your kids!

We copied a gingerbread man pattern on cardstock and cut them out (with a little help from Grandma).

We brought out the tacky glue and the kids decorated the Gingerbread people their way :) L’s had feathers on it’s arms so it could fly.

W told me his gingerbread man was celebrating Thanksgiving. He also said, “I think his mouth is hilarious!”

We checked out and read “The Gingerbread Man” from the library.

We also had fun with this Five Gingerbread Men Finger Play:

{Use the left hand open, palm up, as the tray, and lay the other fingers on the tray until each runs away}

Five little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”

Four little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”

{Repeat with three, two and one gingerbread man, then…}

No more gingerbread men lying on a tray,
They all jumped up and ran away.
Oh, how I wish they had stayed with me to play.
Next time I’ll eat them before they run away.

Have fun!
