When I started using essential oils a few years ago, I didn’t know much about them except to diffuse them and rub lavender on my baby’s feet at night.
But now I know they can be used for SO many things, including health and beauty products! Today I’m sharing how you can make Whipped Body Butter using essential oils and a few other ingredients!

This body butter is perfect for gift giving, especially with Mother’s Day coming soon!
Below is the recipe!

DIY Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup shea butter
1/4 cup safflower oil (you can also use olive oil, grapeseed oil or avocado oil)
5-10 drops of essential oil (I used Peppermint, but some other good choices would be Rosemary, Vanilla or Citrus)

Instructions:
Step 1: Add coconut oil to a medium size bowl

Step 2: Add shea butter

Step 3: Add safflower oil

Step 4: Add essential oil and gently combine.

Step 5: Place in refrigerator for 2-3 hours, or until a soft, solid consistency.

Step 6: Transfer mixture to a stand mixer or keep in bowl and use hand mixer. Mix on medium for 1-2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, light whipped cream!

Store in an airtight container until ready to use. Keep in a dark, cool place to avoid spoilage.

This body butter is perfect for Mother’s Day, teachers gifts or just to have on hand for yourself!
I think this would also make a fun “make and take” activity to do at a girls’ birthday party! :) Enjoy!
