Today is my birthday!

I’m 35 today and I have to say, it doesn’t feel like I’m getting old or anything ;) Someone on Facebook asked the other day whether or not people embraced turning 30….I had to laugh, because I was thinking that way not long ago! And now, after turning 35 I can say that life really does get richer and sweeter the more the years go on. I feel that I am more confident in who I am at 35 than I was at 25….and there are a lot more joys and blessings to be counted!

So I thought it would be fun to do a quick weekend giveaway! I was an author in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle which is no longer on sale. But I bought a copy before the sale expired so I could give it away to one of my lovely readers!!

To enter this giveaway, just LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST! You can wish me a Happy Birthday, wax eloquent about getting “older” or just say hi!

Then after the giveaway ends on 5/28, I’ll choose a winner via random.org and email you! You’ll have to claim your prize ASAP to take advantage of the bundle bonuses that expire on June 2, so please leave a valid name and email address with your comment!

Have a great weekend!!

  1. I used to know two women who refused to admit they were getting older. One would lie, ahem, I mean fib, about her age and would say she was about 5 years younger.
Another one would do similar, but she really panicked and hated the thought of turning 30. That was around 15 years ago, so I hope she’s come to terms with being *gasp* 45.
Me on the other hand am not worried about ageing, I decided to go backwards, so now I’m currently 26..again. haha

But seriously, I’ve decided to grow old disgracefully and I’ve stopped dying my hair to let my silver strands of wisdom (grey hairs) grow and glow in all their glory. ;)

  2. I agree with you about the confidence level at 35 vs 25! I am 39….facing a big one this year. It’s ok…life homeschooling teens has been really sweet and I am so thankful for where God has me!

  3. I’m about to turn 37. I totally agree that I’d much rather be where I am now than where I was in my 20s. So far my 30s have been full of joy and blessings and if course a LOT if growing and maturing. Happy Birthday!

  4. WOW! I can so totally relate! I turned 35 in Feb, but I must agree…the older the wine, the better it gets! Thanks for being a blessing, you do have great content on your blog. Sheesh! There are so many ppl who seem legitimately qualified to get the bundle that, I don’t feel qualified to ask for it, but, I really do want to own one…have a blast dearie, 35 is the new ’15’, cheers!

  5. Happy Birthday – I’m also a May baby … I have only recently discovered your BLOG and I’ve already been so inspired by you! I have also been using your bible verses for kids and they are loving it – I have a 6yr old daughter and an almost 4yr old son – he is also a May baby – turns 4 on Tuesday, 30 May. Thank you for your efforts and God bless you today and every day in the year ahead!!

  6. I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Birthday! I’m so happy to hear that a thirty five year old woman is WILLING to share her age, and EXCITED about it! I am only 26 right now, and I hope that my perspective stays similar to yours. Turning 30, 40, and so on, isn’t a bad thing, something to be dreaded. So much life is in front of us, and the more that is behind us, the more we’ve grown and been molded into who we are and who we will become! Continue to embrace your age, and all the blessings and benefits that come with it!

P.S. Giving something away to someone else on your own birthday is pretty cool. I mean, I don’t want to give you a big head or anything, but I really respect the giving spirit in this. (:

  7. Happy birthday from someone who is 3 years away from being the BIG 40! Can’t even believe it! Enjoy your special day and each day that follows!

    Blessings,

    Tonya

  8. Happy Birthday Jen, May God bless you and use you in His glorious work. Thank you for your encouragement, guidance and help to those of us who are struggling. Have a blessed day ahead.

  15. Happy Birthday! Hitting 35 myself next year, but I always forget how old I am, lol! As long as you feel young, you are young!

  16. Happy Birthday! 35 is still so young, enjoy it! I will be 49 this year and I still feel young. :-)

  17. Happy Birthday!! When I was in my late twenties, turning 30 honestly didn’t seem like a big deal to me. I knew in the big picture it was still young. I told myself that I was going to be one of those women who ages gracefully. I’d happily embrace those grey hairs and wrinkles as a life well lived and rock them no matter my age! Then, at 29 years, 11 1/2 months old I looked in the mirror and there it was: my first wrinkle laughing and mocking me. It was one of the 11 line sisters who decided to appear just in time to sing her dark, twisted version of Happy Birthday. I was a bit compulsive for a while. When my nose wasn’t pressed up against a mirror, inspecting that little unwelcomed visitor (except she wasn’t even THAT because now that she’d come, I knew she was never, ever going to leave. I also knew she was very popular and surely would bring friends!) I was obsessively pushing my eyebrows apart trying, in vein, to Make. Her. Go. Away!! But, thankfully! I’m over it. I got over it. She DID bring friends. I turned on the music, made some punch, and told them all to come on in and join the party. There’s that saying that time is a thief? I eventually decided to think of time as a blessing instead!! So Happy Happy Birthday!! You count your blessings, and remember to party on, my dear!!!

  18. Happy Birthday! ???????????????????? Life definitely gets better with age. I’m turning 37 in June and I wouldn’t go back to my teens or 20’s for anything! ????

  19. Well happy birthday my darling dear! I celebrated 45 a week ago, and I can say that when you can celebrate with grace, it is indeed a wonderful thing.

I hope your year is filled with blessings. You do so much to bless others, it would be fantastic to see you getting some in return. Thank you so very much for all you do.

    Much love and hugs!

  20. Happy Birthday! I thought I would be depressed when I hit 45. I am 47 and loving every minute!

  21. Happy Birthday Jenn! It doesn’t matter what age you are so long as you are happy, healthy, and living life. I wish you a wonderful day and have fun too!

  22. Happy birthday, I hope your day has been truly blessed! I totally agree getting older is richer and sweeter and getting older is really not a bad thing! Hopefully as each of us get older we continue to grow much more wiser than we were the year before!

  23. Happy Birthday! And you are not old–I will turn 52 this summer, and I am still homeschooling my 12 year old! I figure if Jesus woke me up this morning, there us a job He wants me to do today! ????

  24. Happy Birthday! I am 24, but I agree that the years get sweeter as time goes on. I have been blessed in being a wife for 4 years now, and a mother for 4 months! I look forward to God’s continued goodness and plans that He has for all of our lives. I pray for a blessed year for you, and a very Happy Birthday!

  25. Happy birthday! I couldn’t wait to turn Thirty. I felt like people thought I didn’t know what I was talking about when I was in my twenties! Enioy life. Yes it gets sweeter the older you get.

  26. HI Jenn, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I read your blog and get your emails and I am guy!!! I have introduced my wife to you also!! I have been out of work since 0ctober 4th. Thank God I am employed again but we are catching up on past due everything and as a result I was not able to get her a Mothers Day gift. THIS WOULD BE A WONDERFUL GIFT. It would serve a couple of purposes, get me out of the doghouse…lol… and allow us to save money while we get caught up. I hope she doesn” read you today, but if she does at least she will know that I’m thinking about her ( as I always do….love you honey!! ) I honestly don’t know where you find the time or energy to put this together but you do an invaluable service to us poor schmucks. Thank you for everything an GOD BLESS and keep you, you are in our prayers. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

  27. You are still a baby in terms of age. I had a fit when I turned 30. It turned me for a flip and I must say that I laugh at that now. What kills you is when you turn 66. Not 60 not 65 but 66. I am now eligible for commodities in our town. I actually was eligible when I turned 60 but I felt that I was doing good enough to let it go. Well prices went up but our VA pensions only went up 3 time in 8 years. So I am 5 years behind in money to costs. Thank you for a chance to win that bundle I could use it.

I WANT TO WISH YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND HOPE YOU HAVE MANY, MANY MORE.
