As a Christian mom, I want to find creative ways to impress God’s word on my children’s hearts! As we approach Valentine’s Day, this is a great opportunity to learn Scriptures about God’s love: how He has called us to love others in response to His great love for us!

So a couple of years ago, I created a printable Valentine’s Day Bible verse countdown with other Scripture activities that can help you teach your kids about God’s Love in a fun, creative way!

Countdown to Valentine’s Day Bible Verse Activity Pack

You can get the entire printable pack which includes:

  • 14 Scripture Hearts (with Bible verse references)
  • 14 Devotional Conversation Cards to match the Scripture Hearts
  • Scripture Notecards (to print and laminate if desired–would make a cute gift too!)
  • 2 Valentine Themed coloring pages and Love One Another coloring activity
  • Word Find, Matching Game, Bookmarks (could use as Valentines at school!), and Scripture copy work pages (same verses as the hearts, each verse is typed out in a mix of KJV and ESV for your children to write out)

There are specific instructions on the printable, but basically what we are doing is:

  1. Printing out the hearts, punching a hole in them, and then threading some twine through each heart
  2. Then in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, read each day’s Scripture verse and the corresponding question and discuss.
  3. Complete one of the copy work pages or another one of the activities each day

You can hang your hearts on a “Valentine’s tree” as we did, or string them in a banner.

  1. I love this idea! It helps with so many things: an awesome Valentine’s Day decoration, a way to remind us of why we have love, and best of all, a teaching tool! Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. Jenn,
Thank you for putting in the time to do this! I had printed out your writing through scripture in January. I am currently prego with my 6th and we learn together at home. I had been blessed to share your site with one of my friends. I was able to testify that because you were faithful to pull it all together, my family was seeing blessings though me writing out these truths each morning. Then, I satan hit me with a womper of stuggle. Because I continued on the journey of writing out the Scriptures with you and through some sermon notes about praise God for the intimacy that grows deep during difficult parts of the journey, God got the glory!
I say all this to say, thank you, sister, for sharing what was put on your heart! I pray your faithfulness will be a blessing to your family! Thank you for being a bless to me….although we may never meet…until heaven!
Hugs from an unknown friend…but a grateful sister-in-Christ!

    • Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Tamara! I am so encouraged hearing that God has used His Word in such a powerful way in your life. It is living and active, no doubt! I appreciate you sharing your testimony and am thankful to call you a sister in Christ as well! :)
