Here L lines up the ducks and names their colors. Then we sang the song “Six Little Ducks” (well, “Nine Little Ducks” since that’s how many there were).
The ducks’ heads ended up a bit too small for their bodies and at one point, L stapled the table while we were trying to quickly finish up. I’m not sure this craft was a smashing success but it was cute!
We watched this fun little video over and over again. L would squeal and cover her mouth with her hand everytime one of ducks jumped into the water.
Psalm 148:5-10
“Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away. Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!” (ESV)
We sang the song, “All Things Bright and Beautiful” after watching this video on You Tube to get the melody right. You can find the lyrics here.
Our study concluded by reading a few more books about ducks:
All in all this was a fun first “preschool” experiment and not too time-consuming. We did all of these activities over the course of a week.

Thanks BreAna! I hope to have a few more unit ideas posted throughout the year. Definitely good to have something to keep them busy :)
What a fun idea! I have started doing at home preschool activities with my almost 3-year-old this fall too. I am definitely going to check out that website. What a fun unit!
