If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that the What’s in the Bible series is one of our favorite Bible-based resources that we use to teach Scripture, Bible history and other facts about Christianity to our family!
The story behind the inspiration for What’s in the Bible (and it’s companion series Clive and Ian and Galaxy Buck) is really interesting. Several years ago, Phil Vischer, the creator of VeggieTales, realized that VeggieTales had turned into something it wasn’t intended to: lessons in morality that generalized God. He became convicted about this and decided to sell VeggieTales to a different company.
He decided to go forward with a new type of Bible education and is striving to give families a foundational knowledge of the Bible that can help them understand their faith. He did it with a bit of humor mixed in, and as a result, he and his team have been able to address the problem of Biblical literacy (people not really know what’s in the Bible or what it means) so that our walk with God can be an experience where we are growing and learning. The whole group of videos, books and other material is geared toward children but really, I find that as a grownup I enjoy it too :)
We are very picky on what type of Christian material we choose for our children and this is very solid. It’s honestly hard to come by Bible based videos and materials that are actually Scriptural, so this has been such a blessing to our family.
So, I wanted to tell you about a new video in the What’s in the Bible series that launched just a few days ago. It’s called Galaxy Buck: Mission To Sector 9!
From the release video: Join Buck Denver on an adventure like no other! He starts with a dream of his own to go into space and ends up with something much, much better! It’s a life-changing lesson for the whole family.
You can watch the trailer right here or in the player below:
Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is available for $12.99! They always have good Black Friday Sales at What’s in the Bible, and I’ll be sharing those as they come along.
I hope you enjoy What’s in the Bible as much as we have. I love that my children are learning truths about the Bible and laughing along with the characters!
